Casting for Hope Retreats
Survivor & Caregiver Retreats
Our retreat programs invite women surviving with a current cancer diagnosis, women thriving in a post-cancer life, and caregivers to leave the every day. Join us for a weekend full of mountain views, rushing water, laughter-filled soundscapes, and delicious food.
We host our retreats in Bakersville, NC multiple times per year, which offer a relaxing weekend away from the clinical setting wherein attendees meet other survivors and form support groups, learn the mindful act of fly fishing, hear from experts in the oncology field, practice yoga and meditation, participate in art therapy workshops, and more. These weekends offer a much-needed respite from the never-ending emotional demands of cancer treatment. It is a chance for the patients we serve, along with a caregiver, to put aside their worries and cares to enjoy themselves in nature with a loved one – whether that be a partner, parent, sibling, child, or friend.
We take care of preparing healthy, delicious meals, pair them with a supportive fly fishing guide who takes them to the river in chase of feeling the rushing water against their feet and a rainbow trout at the end of their line, conduct art therapy workshops that provide introspective healing and creative inspiration, offer stillness and simple stretching in the form of yoga instruction, and give them a chance to connect with people going through the same obstacles they are.
